I am making a deal with myself that I WILL BE BETTER . . . . . a better wife, a better mom, a better friend, a better sister, a better business owner, a better leader, a better blogger, a better person!!! This last year made me realize that I can't be selfish and I need to be a better me!!! I want to be the best I can because that is all that is asked of us!!! I am so blessed to have a happy healthy family, a thriving business and great friends and I don't want to ever forget to show my appreciation for those things! I want to be better and I WILL BE BETTER!!!

Last one in Braces . . .

About a 2 years ago Caden and I planned to have braces together. Unfortunately things didn't quite work out and I have had mine on and off since then, but Caden just got his one!!! After having all of our family in braces, Caden is the last one. So . . . $4,300 later . . . he finally has them on!!! My favorite is that the Dr. Office told him that he can't kiss girls that have braces on or they will possibly get stuck together!!!

January 2012

I always love how January comes around and we get motivated to set new goals and look forward to all the new adventures the year will bring. Our family was looking forward to January for sure!!! Doug and I attend our 4th Scentsy Leadership Retreat to Riviera Maya in Mexico. We had such a great week there. We left January 9th and came home January 15th. We spent time with our Scentsy family, Scentsy Friends, My baby sister Lyndsee and Gabe and learned of some amazing new things that are in place to happen in Scentsy this year.

College . . . .

Well, this month, we took Austin to college. Here is how it went . . . we got back from Mexico and he was packed and ready to go on Monday. It was Martin Luther King Day on Monday and so no one had school. We loaded up the car and headed over to Boise to the University Suites. He was so excited and ready to move out and be on his own. It was quite the adjustment for mom though!!! I cried for at least a week 1/2. I can't be that old right??? I was happy for him but just sad that the time has flown by so fast and that I feels so different at home without him here. I am so proud of Austin and the decisions he has made in his life and am looking forward to watching him grow up. Life changes too quickly and I am realizing how precious life can really be!!!

House for Sale

Well we finally made the decision to put the house up for sale. We have been contemplating it for the last year but with the market so low we just couldn't make ourselves commit. We finally did it though this weekend. We are so lucky to have Tracy Kasper as our Realtor. She is amazing. Here is the virtual tour link if you want to see.

Week of March 6th - March 12th

So this last week was a pretty normal week. The kids are not in any activites other than Austin, work, Alexis dance and Caden playing with neighbors. It has still be crazy weather rain one day or two days then a nice sunny day with rain the next day and then some snow a little. Isn't spring supposed to be warming up a bit? Doug is working here and there - depends on the weather.
We are preparing for Austin's graduation in May. I can not believe that it has already been almost 18 years. We are planning a trip to Maui Hawaii and are sooooooo excited!!! I will be sure to post pictures for you after we go. We bought a FLIP CAM to save us space and to be able to video some fun things too. Caden bought an IPOD this last weekend and has done nothing except listen to it and pretend that he can't hear you. He loves it though. I put a down payment on a NEW APPLE IPAD 2 and can't wait to get the phone call that it's in. We went and saw "Just Go With It" this weekend and loved it. Not really a movie for an 11 year old though. OOPS! Doug got to go snowmobiling on Saturday up at the Cabin. He has been so bummed this year because of not being able to go every weekend. Soon, soon Doug we will get our time for that. We hope you all have a great week and enjoy the sunshine when it is out!

We should have another normal week but that could change!!! We will see!

The Beginning of 2011 for us

So far this year we have been super duper busy!!! Caden finished up his AAU basketball league. Doug and Austin were the coaches this year. They finished 3rd. I love watching them coach and seeing Caden grow in his basketball abilities!!!

I got my Braces off and we are getting ready to put Caden's on next. WOW!!! All 5 of us have almost been in braces now.

January Doug and I went to the Bahamas for a Directors Retreat. It was a cruise and we had a great time, but it was really really cold there. It was in the 50's we took shorts and no jackets so we were a little chillly! Got to spend time with one of my favorite Sisters and her husband. . . . Lyndsee and Gabe. We had a good time with them and sure miss them.

February I took Alexis, Paige and my mom to Washington DC with me. It was so fun!!! We had a Scentsy show there and we spend a couple days walking, walking, walking. There was so much to see there!!! We went to the Houlicost Museum, Ford's Theatre, Washington Memorial, World War II Memorial, Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial (my favorite!), White House, Smithsonian Natural History Museum and Smithsonian American History Museum. We had so much fun and at night we laughed so hard we cried. I loved it!!! Will definitely go back there!!!

The Oregon Coast with Doug's Family - minus Doug

We spent our next vacation with Doug's Family at the Oregon Coast. We rented a cute beach house and stayed there for 5 days. It was great to be so close to the Ocean and enjoy God's Creations with family! We visited the beach every morning and then hung out or went shopping. Missed Doug though. He had to work and couldn't get the time off. Next trip maybe?

Hadlock Campout in TEXAS!!!

Our family ventured out in a rented RV on July 10th (my birthday) for a LONG road trip to TEXAS to see Lyndsee and her family for our Hadlock Family Campout this year. It was a joyful, stressful, relaxing, stressful trip! We stopped in New Mexico and picked up my dad's sister Aunt Julie and my cousin Dylan. It was a fun trip! We stayed at Lake Travis. We swam, had skit night, had craft night, played games and enjoyed each other all week! We got home on the 19th of July.

Banff Canada - Doug and I went on a Scentsy Earned trip June 15th - June 19th. It was incredible and Breathtaking!

Ouch - Double OUCH!!!

Well, this week has been an real rollercoaster! I have been down in bed all week due to a pinch in my back adn into my right leg. I knew that it was a herniated disc. I tried acupuncture and it didn't seem to help much. I had an MRI on Wednesday and on Friday morning I had an appointment with a neurologist. I went to my appointment in the morning and at Noon on Friday I was at St. Luke's having an emergency Surgery. The Dr. was really concerned that the nerves that were getting pinched from an L4-5 disc herniation was pinching off my nerves to the bladder and bowel. The Dr. thought it best to do surgery ASAP!!! After the surgery the pinching in my back is completely gone, but now the nerves into my right leg are super weak, making it difficult to walk and get around. Glad to be home though. That doesn't even top things off. Caden was at a ski night up at Bogus Basin for a school ski night on Thursday and when he got home at 9:30 p.m. he came walking into in my bedroom and had a splint and sling on his right arm. YEP!!! After my appointment on Friday, we were going to take him to the Dr. to get x-rays and poor kid had to wait till Saturday. Doug finally got him taken in and x-rays taken and he has a "Buckle Fracture" in his right wrist. He didn't get it casted but instead hs to go to an orthopedic Dr. on Monday. So, we will see what the final outcome is tomorrow.

I just love taking pictures, but am not very good at it. I want to take a photography class to get better, but haven't had much time. In the mean time, I don't mind messing around with my Olympus Digital Camera E-500. I always take way too many, but how can you resist once you get them going? After I took these, I was sorting through them and realized just how cute my kids are! I thought to myself of really how blessed we are when we fall in love with someone, the beautiful things we can create! I am blessed with the family that I have been given!!!

The simple things in life always amaze me! Some of my favorite ones are of Alexis just laughing and Caden pouting. It is truly their personalities. Austin will have is own photo shoot day, because Doug and him are up in Grangeville Hunting.

So at the family campout this year, Aunt Marie was showing the kids how to do Cool Whip Shots. They had a blast and of course managed to NOT get it into their mouths and my sister Kim wasn't even near them and got hit!!! Oh well, making great family memories is all that counts at these events!!! He had a great time and really enjoyed our stay out in the middle of nowhere!!!

We all gave snowboarding a try this last spring with some of my friends from the Airport. Alexis and Caden ended up liking skiing better. I ended up smacking my head against the snow when I fell and had a slight concussion. I don't think mom will be going anymore. Well, I will go, but only to take pictures!!!

Doug and I have been married now for 16 year. What an adventure it has been. We are so blessed with the things we enjoy in life and are busy as ever with the kids. Doug is partners with K.C. Lane in a construction business and they are doing great! I am a Star Director with Scentsy Wickless Candles and am enjoying every moment doing my own business, being busy mom and having a little time to myself during the days.

Our oldest son Austin is 15 and quickly turning into a young man. He still plays the cello and is really good. Austin loves sporst. He just finished up Soccer and is now getting ready for Basketball and then Lacrosse. He is way taller than mom and likes to brag about it. He keeps us learning teenage parenting skills on a daily basis.

Lexi is the only girl and stuck in the middle. She is an 8th grader this year at Jefferson. She is the smarty pants of the family. She loves to dance and is becoming very good. Lexi has many friends and enjoys spending time with them. She loves to scrapbook and do crafts. She is a great singer and is always humming a tune around the house.

Caden is our youngest and last child. He loves football, basketball and street surfing. He is in the 4th grade ALP class at Wilson. He is in his 2nd year of Piano Lessons and is a quick learner. He is a strong minded child and will do anything to get out of helpin!! He is my cuddle kid. He loves to sit close to you and be touching you.

This is our family and though we may not feel it everyday, we all love each other, the greatest blessings in each others lives and the most rewarding at the end of each day!!!
